Green Tip of the Week: Start out fresh...

Happy New Year!

Ah, a fresh start. Nothing like it. It is time to do a "green cleaning." Make sure your home is up to par on the green front by doing the following:

• CLEAN!! Out with the old in the with the newly re-used! Go through the house with the objective of minimizing your "things." When tossing items be sure to go through the list: is this item recyclable, sellable, re-usable, toxic? Be sure to dispose of properly.
• EVALUATE!! Once your all cleaned up, do a walk-through and make notes of what could be greener in your home. Do you have some lights that could be switched over to energy saving CFL's? Are you still hoarding some toxic cleaning products and your waiting for the right time to switch to more eco-friendly versions? Leaky faucets? Drafty windows? Take note!
• MAKE A CHANGE!! It is much easier to clean up and green up the house early in the year rather than later when life takes over. Start implementing changes in your house today and you'll enjoy the green fixes all year!
